A high school student's effort to make civic resources easier to find for other young people.
I'm Christopher Kricorian, a high school student in Simi Valley, California. I became interested in civic engagement through my work on climate change anxiety. I wanted to understand how young people could have a real voice in decisions that will shape our future, especially when many of those decisions are made before we are old enough to vote. So I started reaching out to local public officials through their websites, social media, and email. Most didn't respond. A few did. Those conversations helped me understand how local government actually works, why youth voices are often missing from it, and where young people can make a real difference. Civic Launch grew out of those conversations. I built it as a nonpartisan, beginner-friendly resource for young people who want to explore public issues, find ways to get involved, and take practical action in their own communities. I use AI-assisted tools to help build and improve the site. I lead the core research, outreach, editorial direction, and design decisions. When something is incomplete, under review, or corrected, I log it publicly on the Site updates & editorial notes page.
